Jairus Onma Ijale, famously known as Jaidypro, is a music artist, record producer, manager, entrepreneur and CEO of the Lagos based City Light Entertainment, which he formed in 2011, in Abuja, Nigeria.
Biography
Jaidypro was born to the family of Mr. Ijale of Oju Local Government, Benue State. He grew up in Ihiejwo/Onyike, the commercial hub of the Igede ethic group, the third largest ethnic group in Benue State. Upon completing his secondary education in 2008, he moved to Jos, Plateau State, where he launched his music career.
Music Career
For this who have encountered him, it is not surprising that Jaidypro described music as his life, having fallen in love with music at a tender age, as a son of a local DJ who his father was. His father’s talent made him popular among the people of his locality, but he didn’t make it to the top as a professional.
Jaidypro started manifesting his attraction to music by picking up his father’s battery powered radio and recording vocals of himself into the cassette tapes, even damaging a lot of them in the process.
Having learnt how to read after his primary education, he taught himself how to sing through musical lyrics books and was subsequently assisted by his older brother, Zek, who taught him how to mimic the songs through the help of the lyrics books he got for himself. All the little Jaidypro was doing then was living passion from which he expected nothing. But things would change years later.
In 2006, he became inspired to write his own songs. He, along with his brother whom he identified as 2Jay, formed a music group, but that didn’t hold for long because of his sudden relocation to Jos in 2008.
While in Jos, in 2008, he recorded and released his first single ‘Party on Fire’. The track became a hit and what followed was an increase in his popularity as the fans’ love for the song grew. He followed the single up by recording more tracks until 2011, the year he moved up the ladder of his music career in the entertainment industry.
The desire for a new challenge which birthed the hunger for higher aims had him on the move again, and this time around, it is from Jos to Lagos, the indisputable capital of African music and entertainment at large. Upon arriving in Lagos, things failed to align as he had hoped and, as a result, he was on the move again to Abuja. And while there, in Abuja, he took up music production skill and subsequently enrolled for training in music production.
After equipping himself with the right skills in Abuja, he packed his bags for another journey back to Oju, his home, and established his first recording studio.
